East Bay Regional District Board Votes to Ban OHV Recreation at Tesla

On July 16, 2013 East Bay Regional Park District Board of Directors voted to continue efforts to ban OHV recreation on the “Tesla property” at Carnegie SVRA which in reality is called the Alameda/Tesla Expansio.

“I attended the District board meeting yesterday where they voted to approve the new Master Plan that includes a map of the so called “Tesla property” identified as a future acquisition.   Even though District staff has said they really don’t want the Tesla Property (Alameda/Tesla Expansion) for non-motorized use, they continue to stand – like children – in front of the candy store lusting for the forbidden fruit.”   Don Amador

They ignore our voices with a blind obedience to some kind bizarre notion of what it means to be green. Does anyone besides me find this attitude offensive? It is an audacious act by an out-of-control agency!

Why… because it is always easier to blame someone else (the OHV community) for mankind’s unkind treatment of the planet rather than blame themselves (they drive cars, ride in commercial jet airplanes, heat and cool their houses, etc.) Is it time to hold them accountable for interfering with a legitimate state interest? They think that they can ignore the law with impunity.
